Parent Involvement is all about the children. Participation in your child’s education is proven to boost his or her achievement in school. We are committed to treat parents as partners while keeping lines of communication open and focused on the needs of your child. Mutual trust and respect between parents and teachers is required to maintain a positive learning experience at any school. We believe that your trust in Canyon Springs is required to ensure your child’s success.

      • My name is Rebecca Reimer and I am a Special Education teacher at Canyon Springs.  I will be working on my 9th year in the district and 19th year of teaching all together.  Before beginning my teaching career, I attended Iowa Wesleyan College and continued my education at Morningside College in Iowa earning my Master’s Degree in Special Education as an Instructional Strategist II ED/BD.

      • I live in Anthem and have been happily married for 24 years.  My husband and I have adopted 10 children with special needs and we have 3 children with fur…they are all the love of our lives!

    • Overview of Career and College Readiness Standards and how we teach math and ELA, including the high expectations we have for our students’ learning experiences.

    • Students will focus on reducing the gaps identified on their Individual Education Plans.

    • Behavioral Expectations

      • Classroom expectations are established at the beginning of the year with the students.  Students will follow the same school-wide behavioral expectations as their peers.  Every attempt will be made to ensure your child feels safe, secure and accepted and trusts that we can work together to find a resolution when a problem arises.

      • School Wide: All District Rules will be adhered to at Canyon Springs School. Please refer to the DVUSD Student Rights and Responsibilities Handbook. We believe that students must treat others with the same respect with which they are treated by the adults in our school. We also believe that student’s actions, dress, possessions, etc., must not cause a problem for themselves or anyone else.

      • Every attempt will be made to contact parents to discuss school problems before their child gets home.

          • Please schedule specific times to meet with me, as we need time to communicate effectively. I often have professional duties directly before and after school hours. Please understand that I will not be able to meet or discuss issues while I am teaching or supervising students. However, I will contact you as soon as I can.
