We invite YOU to participate in Hour of Code during the National Computer Science Week (December 3 - 7, 2018). Whether your class has access to computers or not, there are a variety of ways to get involved including activities with music, drawing, Code the News, Wonder Woman, Star Wars, Minecraft, and many more! All learners from preschool through high school (and adults) can participate with lessons or self-led tutorials. Go to https://code.org/learn and click on activities to see all the ways you and students can get involved.  Download the Hour of Code Participation Guide here.

    Superintendent Dr. Finch:

Computers are everywhere, changing every industry on the planet.  But fewer than half of all schools teach computer science.

The good news is, DVUSD is working to change that! Deer Valley students joined millions from across the country who made history participating in an Hour of Code in 2016!

This year, let's make it even bigger. I’m asking you, DVUSD staff, teachers, and administrators and students...

    Student Adelaide: Like me?

    Superintendent Dr. Finch:

Yes, like you. Join the Hour of Code 2017 event during Computer Science Education Week, December 4-10. It’s really fun, right Adelaide?

Student Adelaide: Yes. I can teach you.

[Dr. Finch sits down next to Adelaide and learns how to write a short line of code]
