    Dr. Price-Barry - Principal

Being an educator has not just been my career choice, but my life choice! Preparing our students to be future life learners and good citizens has been a passion of mine since I became a teacher 35 years ago.

I was born and raised in California and I moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1984. I am married and have two grown children and three grandchildren.

I have taught a variety of grade levels in both English and Spanish and have taught students with a variety of academic needs. I have had the pleasure of being a building administrator for the past 15 years and have been the principal of West Wing for the past 11 years.

My philosophy of education is pretty simple, children come first! All decisions that I make are based on what is best for children at West Wing School.

I am thrilled to be joining the West Wing Family as Assistant Principal! I look forward to working with our staff, students, parents, and the community to ensure West Wing continues to be an A+ School of Excellence.

As an Arizona native, I attended DVUSD and I continue to be a proud leader within our district. In my thirteen years of educational experience, I am fortunate to have eight of those years within Deer Valley. Quickly into my career, I became an iTeach ASU Mentor which inspired my passion for leadership. I decided to further my education and receive my Masters in Educational Leadership from ASU. Go Devils!. I bring a wealth of experience that ranges from school level to district level leadership. Over the past five years, I have held two positions at the District Office that have enhanced my growth and knowledge as a leader. Induction Mentor Specialist (mentoring to New to Profession teachers) and as the Continuous Improvement Specialist for our Organizational Improvement Department. Through my experiences, I have had the pleasure of supporting all schools, teachers and leaders in DVUSD and I look forward to getting to know all of you on a personal basis.

When I am not on campus, you can most likely find me outdoors hiking, biking, or chasing my next travel adventure. As Dr. Suess would say, “The more you learn, the more places you’ll go.” I have a large extended family and three fur-babies that keep me busy in my personal time.

My educational philosophy always begins with relationships, honesty, and students come first. DVUSD’s motto is “ Together We’re #Extraordinary”, I wholeheartedly believe in collaboration among all stakeholders and I look forward to meeting all of you in person soon!
