Students should follow WW and classroom rules in order to maintain a safe and respectful environment. Students need to be actively listening, on-task, respectful, responsible, and kind to one another. Our classroom has four ways to positively promote good behavior each day.
CLIP UP/DOWN chart—
Each student begins the day on the green “Ready to Learn” section. Good behavior choices result in a “clip up” to “Great Choices” and beyond. Each time a student clips up he or she earns a token. At the end of the week, the students count their tokens and the student who has the most tokens becomes the Star Student for the week. The Star Student earns a special place to sit for the entire week.
Students will clip down to “Warning” when they have broken a rule or are behaving in a way that disrupts others’ learning. If the behavior is repeated, the student will write a reflection about how his or her behavior needs to change. If a student clips down a third time, the teacher will email or call the parents.
Each table group can earn points throughout the week and at the end of the week, the group with the most points, gets a prize pick and a trophy for their table group.
This is a classroom incentive for all students to work together to earn the letters in the words We Soar Eagles. When all the letters have been earned, a special treat or privilege will be given.
A letter of the word HOMEWORK will be earned each day that every student brings completed homework to school. When all the letters have been earned, students will earn a treat or privilege.
