Nutrition for Classrooms

  • Incorporating nutrition education into the classroom will not only help students make healthier choices but will also improve academic performance. Teaching children about nutrition addresses the whole child. and students get excited when they can take real-life nutrition information home to their families. With a little creativity, nutrition education can be included into all core subjects. Many states and school districts and have a required nutrition education curriculum ("Linking" is a California curriculum).  MyPlate is a curriculum written by USDA and is currently used in our schools where the Leaders in School Wellness Sub-grant is taking place.
