    This summer Arizona State University will host The Summer Design Primer, a hands-on introduction to the architecture, interior design, industrial design, landscape architecture and visual communication design disciplines.     Leadership

     

    The Arizona State University Cesar E. Chavez Leadership Institute is a high-energy leadership program for sophomores and juniors. Selected students participate in a one week program at ASU in the summer in workshops and activities exploring higher education, leadership development and community engagement while living on the ASU campus.     The Civic Leadership Institute is a one-week, free intensive residential seminar for rising sophomore, junior and senior high school students hosted by the School of Civic and Economic Thought and Leadership June 15–21 on Arizona State University’s Tempe campus.     Logic and Leadership Academy Summer Program at ASU is open for registration!

     

    The Pioneer Prep Leadership Institute at The University of Denver is part of our commitment to diversity and inclusiveness. These three-day programs are designed for rising high school juniors and seniors who are looking ahead to their college experience and want an early look at higher education.  High school students graduating in 2020 and 2021 are eligible to apply.  Out-of-state students would stay from Tuesday, July 23rd – Saturday, July 27th. Students can apply for travel stipends. Transportation to and from Denver International Airport is provided. The cost to attend the program is $65 (fee waivers available for students on free or reduced lunch). DU covers the cost of curriculum, room & board, and entertainment.      Medical / Science

     

    Midwestern University's Annual Health Care Careers Institute for High School Students will take place this year from July 11-20 on the Glendale Campus. This FREE medical program is open to current high school juniors and seniors and offers hands-on lab activities and lectures designed to introduce students to a variety of health professions. Applications may be downloaded at ww.midwestern.edu/azhealthcareersinstitute. The application must be postmarked by April 1 and all applicants are required to submit a recommendation letter and a transcript.

    The ACLU Summer Advocacy Program (July 20-26) brings together high school students from across the United States to participate in a firsthand learning experience for the next generation of social justice advocates. During this week-long program in Washington, DC, students participate in electives and seminars led by lobbyists, community activists, lawyers, and ACLU experts to enhance their knowledge of civil liberties, social justice issues, and advocacy campaigns. The Close Up Foundation – a DC based civic education non-profit – partners with the ACLU to provide substantive experiential learning and small group discussion opportunities throughout the program.
