Ms. Simmons
Welcome to Rm. 606!
My name is Erin Simmons, and I am the Campus Intervention Coordinator and an Elevate teacher at Deer Valley Middle School. I am grateful to work with a community of competent, passionate, and impactful educators.
I graduated from Westmont College, a small private college in Santa Barbara, California, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies: Elementary Education in December of 2013. I continued my education at Westmont and completed their California Teaching Credential Program in the spring of 2014.
My teaching career began with an opportunity to teach internationally. I taught grades three and four at a private international institution in Costa Rica from 2014 to 2018. In July of 2018, I moved to Arizona where I taught single subject elementary as the English Subject Expert Teacher for fourth grade. In the summer of 2019, I made the jump to middle school and began teaching 7th grade English Language Arts here at Deer Valley Middle.
Outside of school, I try to keep up with my little guy, experiment with cooking and baking, hike around Arizona, and read both fiction and non-fiction.
Welcome to another year!
