Professional Profile - Douglas A. Rothschild
Information Technology Career
For over 28 years Mr. Rothschild held senior executive management positions with such leading Fortune 500 technology corporations as IBM , Lucent Technologies, Nortel Networks , and MCI / Verizon . In roles with these organizations Mr. Rothschild was responsible for the management of global operating divisions that employed hundreds of employees across the North America and Europe.
In addition to highly successful endeavors with industry leading corporations, Mr. Rothschild has also played a major senior executive role in facilitating the success of a number of start – up high technology companies. These start – ups were privately owned companies that specialized in advanced CRM software, communications hardware, and professional technical services. As a senior executive with such companies as Madge Networks and Island Data Corporation, Mr. Rothschild’s management expertise helped lead these companies to exponential growth, their initial public offerings, or their eventual merger / acquisition.
Over the past 20 years Mr. Rothschild has been working in the field of education. He has spent 17 of those years as a high school social sciences teacher and 3 years as the Director of Data Research and Information Analysis for a large school district in Arizona. In his role as a teacher Mr. Rothschild has taught AP Economics, AP Government, AP United States History, World History, Sociology, and various business classes.
In this role as a district director, Mr. Rothschild designed and managed the implementation of major district wide projects to effect strategic institutional process improvements and operational efficiencies. These included state-of-the-art custom learning management systems as well as data collection, analysis, and dashboard reporting systems for school administrators.
In addition to his primary responsibilites, Mr. Rothschild also been a lecturer on administrative and instructional technologies for the Arizona Department of Education, an administrative and instructional technology coach responsible for district wide staff training programs, and he has coached high school varsity basketball and baseball.
Education and General Background
Mr. Rothschild is a graduate of Waynesburg University, Long Island University, and Duke University’s – Fuqua Graduate Business School Executive Program. He has earned a BA in history and an MPA in Public Finance and Policy Analysis.
Although a native of New York City, Mr. Rothschild has been living in the Western United States for 25 years. Having been a two-sport NCAA athlete in basketball and baseball, he remains an avid sportsman. Mr. Rothschild and his wife reside in the North Phoenix area and have three adult children.
