• We need YOU!

  • Highland Lakes School PTSO

One of the BEST ways to get involved here at HLS is to participate in one or many activities that our amazing PTSO organizes or sponsors!

There is NO membership fee to join! As a parent, you are already a member. Woo hoo!

Our PTSO board members are parents who volunteer their time. Many of them have more than one child, work jobs outside the school, have other hobbies, commitments and interests...just like YOU!

They already have a calendar of amazing events and activities for the 2019-20 school year posted online and ready for helpers! Click here to see ways to VOLUNTEER

Even if you are crazy busy (like most of us!), any help you can provide would be valued and appreciated. If we all pitch in and help when and where we can, we are showing our children the true meaning of KINDNESS.

Don't be shy! Check out the list of opportunities and find a few or as many as you like that SPARK JOY! (I've really only watched about 2 or 3 Marie Kondo episodes). Click here for PTSO Calendar of Events

We can't do it all, but we can each do a little!

  • Classroom Volunteers

Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, family friends are encouraged to volunteer!

Please go to the HLS Homepage OR CLICK HERE to find out how to get set up or you can stop by the front office and ask one of our friendly and amazing staff members about Volunteer Training.

*If you are unable to help in the classroom, but think you might want to chaperone on one of our field trips this year, please make sure you take care of your Volunteer Training requirements.

Thank you for helping us keep ALL of our children safe!

More information on ways to volunteer in our class will be coming home the first week of school.

  • Stay informed!

Weekly newsletters- posted in the Newsletter tab to keep you informed on what we are learning in class as well as important dates.

If you can't find the paper copy of one that was sent home in your child's daily blue folder, just find the link for that newsletter in that tab.

Remind App: I use the Remind App to send photos, announcements and quick reminders straight to your cell phone.

The code I will provide you at the beginning of the year is SPECIFICALLY for our class.

(The school and district have their own codes to enroll.)

You also have the option to respond to me within the Remind App.

FYI- I do my best to observe "Family Hours" when I use the Remind App., so I try not to send messages too early in the day or too late.

Please understand that although I may send you a quick photo of your child doing something fun at school, I will not be able to respond to you if needed until after my professional hours that day.

****If you need a response to something, it is BEST to email me.

Class Emails: On occassion, I may send out a class email, so please be sure that we have a current email address on file for you. Thanks!
