A Message from your Principal Mrs. Sepuka
Posted by Amy Brice-Nash on 8/5/2019Welcome to Esperanza Elementary School!
We are pleased to be part of your child (ren’s) education!
We have a highly qualified, caring staff that is here to meet the needs of your child (ren) academically, socially and emotionally. At Esperanza we offer a continuum of services to meet all of our students’ needs. We are committed to offering extraordinary learning experiences through the use of rigorous, engaging curriculum, small group instruction while utilizing the Common Core Standards and individual student data. We are focused on continuously improving the learning experiences for everyone at our school.
Esperanza is a Music Academy. Our music focus allows all students on campus to benefit from different musical experiences.
- Our youngest students participate in Music and Me.
- Our first and second grade students enjoy piano lab in addition to general music.
- Third grade students add strings to their experiences.
- Fourth grade students can enjoy chorus, hand bells and strings in addition to receiving the music delivery model for their general music class.
This music delivery model allows student to experience and learn about all instruments through unit studies on each before having the option to join band in 5th and 6th grade and hone in on one instrument.
In addition to all these experiences all classes use the Brummitt Taylor listening program each day which allows students to learn about
composers and the history behind the pieces they compose. Students also try their own hand at composing through the use of iPods and the garage band application. We are very excited to share that we have been awarded the 21st CLCC grant and will be offering intervention and enrichment opportunities before and/or after school for students free of charge. This program will be open to students that meet specific criteria. This program will run from mid - September through May.
Our staff is here to support you and your family throughout the school year. Please stop by or call if you have any questions or concerns.
We are looking forward to meeting and talking with each and everyone one of you. Please join us in growing responsible Lobo Learners as Leaders! We are looking forward to a wonderful and rewarding year with you and your child (ren).Respectfully,
Mrs. Sepuka, Principal and the Esperanza Staff623.445.3700
