Reading From Home

  • You may not always be able to come into the Paseo Hills Library Media Center, but there are still ways to read from home.  Check out some of the resources below!


Destiny Discover ebooks

  • You can access our library's ebooks through the Destiny Discover search engine.  Just click here and log in using your DVUSD Google account.  You can keyword search for specific ebooks (make sure you change the format to "ebook" in the search options) or look at a list of all the ebooks Paseo has to offer.  Once you find a book, click on "checkout" and/or "open" to read it on your computer or phone.

Free online books

  • Paseo Hills offers a small selection of ebooks through MackinVia.

    Click on the graphic above, seach for Paseo Hills School, and login with our schoolwide username and password.  When you open a book, you may be asked to log in again; use your personal student username and password.

Public Library

     Check out your local public library's website for a ton of online resources.  Paseo Hills is in the Phoenix Public Library area.  Just click the link below and explore their eLibrary.  You can get access to eBooks, picture books, audiobooks, comic books, music, movies, and tv shows with your library card (and some without a card).  Don't have a card?  Apply to get an eCard and start borrowing right away.  : )

Online Storytimes!

  • Check out these online story times:

    #SAVEWITHSTORIES - At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Save the Children and No Kid Hungry joined with celebrities to make sure kids could still hear amazing stories and flex their imaginations, even while staying safe at home.  The stories are still available to watch - link opens to Instagram.

    Storyline Online - let celebrated actors (like Betty White, Chris Pine, or Kristen Bell) read to your children

Author Activites

  • Activities you can do with some of your favorite authors

    Kids Ask Authors - author Grace Lin (Where the Mountain Meets the Moon) and a guest author answer one questions submitted by a child.  It's a short 5-10 minute podcast and ends with a poem, story, review, or a joke submitted by a kid.

    Pigeon Presents - Art and read alouds with Mo Willems, author and artists of the Pigeon books and the Elephant and Piggie books.

    Draw Everyday with JJK - daily art lessons from Jarrett J. Krosoczka.  Krosoczka is the author and artist of books for a wide range of ages from younger kids, (Punk Farm, Lunch Lady series), middle grades (Jedi Academy), and young adult (Hey Kiddo).
