    Dear DVUSD Families,

As you are aware, Governor Ducey has ordered all schools to be closed through the end of this school year, due to concerns about the spread of COVID-19. Starting on April 6th, our district will be transitioning to a home learning model through digital tools to provide educational opportunities while our schools are closed. We realize that this model may not work for all families due to internet availability, so we are providing grade-level specific review lessons in paper form only to those families without internet access to ensure every student has the opportunity to experience grade-level academic work. Those families with internet access will only be working with the online model conducted by their student’s teachers.

Just like our digital delivery model, we will provide you a Home Learning schedule. The grade level packet available for pick up will have lessons aligned to the Arizona academic standards. It is our goal to provide all students in Deer Valley Unified School District support academically during this time.

The current focus of home learning for the next two weeks is to review and practice key standards our students have already covered and were taught before our schools closed. The intention of the initial work we are providing is not to be graded and entered into PowerSchool, so there will be no need to return this work to school. That being said, your child’s teacher will still be available every day to answer questions and offer support.  You may email them directly or contact them through regular forms of communication that you have used before such as text messaging through applications such as Dojo or Remind.

There will be a specifically designed packet for each grade level that will be available for pick up from your child’s school on April 6 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. To minimize contact, the packets will be grab-and-go through the student pick-up lane.

Deer Valley Unified School District is committed to providing quality education to every student even during these unprecedented times. We appreciate partnering with you to support students’ academic success during this challenging time.
