• Welcome to Ceramics 1-2!

     We will be discovering new ways to create Art in the most enriching three-dimensional media, CLAY! Ceramics 1-2 explores hand-building techniques including pinch pots, slab, and coil. We will learn about the stages of clay, proper care of the studio and our tools, the creative process, and the vast history of ceramics, both functional and/or expressive.

    Dear Students, Staff and Families:

     I've been teaching Art since 2008 after finishing my program at Northern Illinois University in Art Education, and I'm so glad to be with the Deer Valley Team. There are many ways to teach Art. I utilize the traditional methods and the more contemporary approaches. We incorporate creating, responding, presenting and analysis. One of our goals is to improve our understanding of Visual Communication and apply this knowledge in our projects. Students can learn more about diverse cultures and express themselves through the Arts than any other subject.
