Everything You Need to Know About Learning from Home
Monday, April 6th, starts Home Learning. There will be NO live instruction. This means that all assignments and lessons will be posted on Canvas for you to complete whenever it’s best for you and your family. All assignments will be posted on Monday and due on Friday at midnight. Please don’t save everything for Friday, as you will need to be familiar with the assignments for Office Hours during the week. Office Hours ARE live- this means that if you’re not there at the right time, you’ll miss it. Attendance will be taken, and all meetings will be recorded for safety and accountability. Please note that these recordings are for teachers and administrators. No students will have access to the Zoom recordings.
DVMS has recommended that students create a schedule for their day. Feel free to change it around and make it work for you, but be sure to make it a schedule that you can follow each week.
Make sure you know the Office Hours schedule and show up to Office Hours on time to touch base, get any questions answered, and just say hi. This is our only face-to-face time, so let’s take advantage of it!
For the rest of the year, all communication will go through the following channels: Canvas, email/ Google Drive, or Zoom. There is information about how to access your Google Drive and email and how to use Zoom for Office Hours already posted on my Canvas course, so spend some time reading through all that information.
This is going to be different. We’ll figure it out together.
If you want a simple way to keep track of changes, there is a website that tracks all numbers related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
