Mrs. Kim Donat
I was born and raised in little old Connecticut and moved out here in July of 2012. We made our new home out here in Anthem in 2012 because we fell in love with the strong sense of community and camaraderie that shines out here. My family consists of my loving husband, two beautiful boys, my German Shephard, Dory and her annoying little sister, a pomsky, Marli.
Outside of school hours we are continuing to get to know our new homeland by going to different places and exploring the desert. I love spending time with family and friends. We love to play games (cards, board games, and family sports) together whether we are inside or outside. My greatest pleasure is watching my sons play sports. They love the game and I love watching them. I have found a great love for the game of Pickle Ball!! Who knew how much fun it would be!?
I have been teaching at Gavilan Peak for 6 years and have found a second family here fast. I've taught 5th and 6th grade mostly in my career. This year I am excited to continue focusing on just teaching math with the new Illustrative Math Curriculum. My children both attend(ed) here and truly believe in the wonderful educators and staff that are at our school. My oldest son is a sophomore at BCHS and plays on their baseball team. GO JAGS! My youngest son is spending his last year here at GP with me :-( Pretty soon I won't have any children here with me anymore. I love teaching and living in the same community. I love getting to know all of my students and their friends and family. I love going to the baseball fields, grocery store, or wherever in town and seeing my students out and about. So be sure to say "Hi" to me when you see me!
