    Band 7/8

    Practice and perform #18 Skill Builder on page 4 using Smart Music.  You can choose your tempo so adjust it to your liking.  If you are percussion or clapping the rhythms be sure to change the mic setting.  Please turn in your assignment once you have completed it.

    Band 6

    Pick one assignment to do this week.  You can watch the presentation of Frozen the musical and fill out the google form or you can do a Flipgrid video performance.

     

    1. Frozen: there are Youtube links within the slides so you can watch the and hear the music that goes along with them. Be careful and safe when using Youtube. Follow your household rules and use parent/guardian supervision or help if you know you are supposed to!

  • Week of May 4 - 8

    7/8 Band

    This week you will practice and perform #11 Sight-Reading Challenge using Smart Music.  Use the F Concert Scale #10 to practice the key.  You do not need to sight-read this piece.  You can practice as much as you would like.  I am also giving you freedom to change the tempo.

    Please fill out the Google form and give some feedback about using Smart Music.

     

    Band 6

    This week you get a break from practicing.  I thought you might enjoy this PowerPoint introducing the Broadway stage performance of the Lion King.  There are Youtube links within the slides so you can watch the and hear the music that goes along with them. Be careful and safe when using Youtube.   Follow your household rules and use parent/guardian supervision or help if you know you are supposed to!

    There is a Google form attached for you to share some feedback after you go through the PowerPoint.

     

    Band 5

    Pick a song of your choice from your book or the One Size Fits All site.  Record yourself performing that song using Flipgrid, your computer or your phone and send it to me.  Fill out the Google form with the name of the song you chose.

    Band 7/8

    I have assigned 2 exercises in Smart Music for you to work on.  Choose 1 to record and submit.  Our new learning is doing and submitting a Smart Music assignment.  The login link is attached if you need it. C42GT-Z2VYL is the class code.  The assignments are #5 or #6 on page 2.  Bb Concert Scale or Skill Builder.

    Band 6

    Record yourself playing a song using the Flip grid.  You can play a scale from page 40 or 41.  You can play #78 Skill Builder or any song of your choice.  Our new learning this week is to share your performance with me using the Flip grid.

    I have edited the grid so it should be easier for you to access it.

    Continue to explore music using the One Size Fits All Band Book.  If you haven't found a song yet, please pick one and let me know what you have picked.  If you need help be sure to come to a Zoom meeting and I will show you how to use the sight

    Band 5

    Review work on Rio Con Brio.  Tell me your highest note, lowest note and how many rests are in the song.  Clap the rhythms before you try to play.  Begin working on the song one measure at a time.  Put your measures together to create the song.  Song is #54 on page 15.  I am attaching an mp3 with the melody to help you get started.

    Intro to Flipgrid.  Our new learning this week is to send a short video or yourself using Flipgrid.  We can use this app for you to share your performances with me.  This week say hello and tell me a fun fact about yourself.  Click on the link and follow the easy instructions

    Smart Music subscriptions are currently available for free.  I have created a basic class to get us started.  Please create a Smart Music account and join "Hatfield Band Class" using this code C42GT-Z2VYL
