  • The two of the most frequently asked questions regarding band membership are schedules and instruments.

     
    Instruments & Learning Materials for 5th & 6th graders:
    • The most important items include...
      • A QUALITY instrument with accessories in working order.
      • Tradition of Excellence Book 1 for the student's instrument.
      • A half-inch binder with page protectors.
    • Beginning band instrument choices are flute, clarinet, alto saxophone (clarinet 1st semester), trumpet, trombone, French horn (trumpet 1st semester), baritone, or bell-kit percussion (bells 1st semester + drum pads 2nd semester).
    • Choices DO NOT include violins, guitars, piano or drum-set as these instruments are NOT regular members of a concert band.

    Band Schedules 23/24 (updated end beginning of August, subject to change):
    • Full bands & sectional rehearsals are all in the AFTERNOON this year (required attendance, unless excused by RTI teacher). Extra, optional practices will be one day per week per grade level AFTER school.
