My name is Laura Altmaier and I am so excited to be joining the team at Canyon Springs School!! I have extensive experience with gifted children having spent fifteen years working in a multi-age first, second, and third grade mostly gifted classroom.  I have a Montessori background and spent the past year in Peoria as a self-contained fourth grade teacher.  I love to think outside-the-box and create fun and meaningful lessons for children.  I have spent numerous years as a mentor teacher and a consultant all over Arizona.  I am thrilled to be working at a STEM school!  I taught science enrichment for six years at the Montessori school for first, second, and third graders and loved it!  I am a mom and grandma – two of my grandchildren go to Legend Springs and I have been extremely pleased with the district and the teachers I have met so far.  I am a lifelong learner and love to take webinars on all subjects from cooking, education to yoga!  I cannot wait to start working with all of you!
