    Resumes August 3

    Meal service will be available to all students enrolled in the Deer Valley Unified School District throughout remote learning. Meals may be picked up at ANY DVUSD location.  Student/parents may pick up meals at the campus that is the most convenient for them.

    Two types of meal service options will be available:

    • Starting Monday August 3, 2020 - Ready to eat meals with entrée choices will be available daily at all high schools.
      • Note: Monday August 3, 2020 ONLY - All open K-8 locations will have grab and go breakfast and lunch available for pick-up during regularly scheduled pick-up times.

    •  Starting Tuesday August 4, 2020 - Pre-packaged meal kits will be available at all open K-8 locations on TUESDAYS (2 days of meals) and THURSDAYS (3 days of meals). Some meal items served under this serving model may require additional preparation at home.


    National School Lunch Program requirements and allowances for meal pick-up:

    • Free and reduced-price meal benefits apply for qualified, enrolled students only. Additional meals may be purchased at regular meal price for younger children or adult household members.
    • Payment for meals will be in accordance with current meal eligibility status. Meal pricing is based on the site at which a student is enrolled, NOT based on where the meal is picked up.

    • A valid school ID number must be provided for each student at time of pick up to receive meals.
    • Parent/guardians are allowed to pick up meals for students, but MUST provide student name, DVUSD id # and parent/guardian name. Permission for alternative guardian pickup must be provided to Food & Nutrition staff, as meals will be charged to student’s account.
    • Meals may be picked up at ANY DVUSD school. Students/parents may pick up meals at the campus that is the most convenient for them.

     Safety Protocols

    • Dashboard signs will be available to communicate student name, id# and milk choice in order to maintain social distancing.
    • Patrons should wear face masks when interacting with meal service staff.
    • Curbside meals will be placed in vehicle trunk/cargo space or empty passenger seat.
    • Prepayment on meal accounts via ezschoolpay is highly encouraged. The on-line convenience fee is being waived thru 9/14/20.

    Free & Reduced Meal Benefits

    • Meal benefits from last school year will carry over for the first 30 days of instruction (9/14/20).
    • Free and reduced-price meal applications are online at www.EZMealApp.com or at dvusd.org/mealassistance.
