Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Dustin Butler

I am originally from Illinois and moved to Arizona 10 years ago to begin my teaching career. Before teaching, I was a carpenter for 15 years, and built buildings like the school I now work in. My first teaching assignment was 7th grade science in  the Alhambra School District where I taught for 7 years. Wanting to be closer to home and for a change of pace, I then switched to high school earth science at O'Connor High School here in Deer Valley. Now, a twist of fate has brought me to Sunrise and I am excited about the opportunity to serve this community. In my time outside of school, I could be found spending time with my three kiddos, a boy and two girls (21, 18, and 16), working part-time at my church, playing with my two dogs, or restoring my 1964 Chevy Corvair, or a host of other things I enjoy. The most important thing you need to know about me is that the work I do here this year has meaning and purpose. I want to make a difference in the lives of these students, which will be remembered and help them be successful for the rest of their lives. Thank you for the opportunity to serve them.
