Technology Device Distribution
Device Check Out
DVUSD students in grades K-12 who need a computer device for the upcoming school year can check out a device from their home school. Students enrolled in the On Campus Virtually model as well as students enrolled in the Deer Valley Online Academy are eligible for a device. No matter which learning model you selected, the device will be checked out at your child’s home school. If your child has open enrolled to a district school, you will pick up the device at the school he/she has been approved to attend under open enrollment.
The device type which can be checked out varies by grade level.
- Kindergarten students may check out an iPad.
- Students in grades 1-8 may check out a chromebook.
- High school students at BCHS, DVHS, MRHS, & SOHS may check out an iPad.
- High school students at BGHS and Vista Peak may check out a chromebook.
Students who checked out a device this past spring or summer, may retain the device for this upcoming school year. They will not check out another device unless the student is going into Kindergarten, going into 9th grade, or will be attending Barry Goldwater High school. These students will need to exchange their device for a different type of device.
Dates and times for device distribution will be communicated by each school and posted on their website during the week of July 27th.
By checking out a district technology device, you will be agreeing to certain terms and conditions. Please click the link below to read the terms and conditions.
Families with financial hardship who do not have internet service may request assistance with securing internet service at no cost to them. You will need to submit a request form (see below). Part of the process for requesting assistance requires that you apply to Cox’s Connect2Compete program and supply the account number Cox provides to you so that DVUSD can pay the monthly fee. If Cox denies service due to a lack of coverage in your area, you may still submit the form and the district will attempt to find another solution for you.

Instructions for when the devices will need to be returned to the school will be communicated after schools resume on campus classes. Grades K-3 will return the devices to the campus once in-person instruction resumes. Grades 4-12 will retain the devices throughout the school year, bringing the device to/from school each day once in-person instruction resumes.
DVUSD chromebook and iPad devices must be returned to the school if the child withdraws from the district school. DVUSD devices will not work once the child is no longer enrolled in the district.
