  • 3rd Quarter Art Updates

Posted by Camille Obert-Goralski on 1/4/2021 8:00:00 AM

Winter 2021 is going to be a great time here at DVOA. I will be teaching 7th and 8th grade along with my colleagues, Mrs. Kaye and Mr. Medina.

I will also be having an art club for any studetns who have had or have me in art (from last quarter or this quarter in DVOA).

Any students interested need to contact me via email at

    What does art club do?

At this point, I am trying to be open to allow students make this their time to learn and play.  This is an ungraded and totally voluntary activity.  We will be having a zoom meeting once a week and I will have a canvas "ART CLUB" course available for students who request access.   I will be sending out an interest and schedule preferences during the first week of the quarter so please, look for that in your email from me and let me know what day/times work and what you're interested in learning from me.

I am really excited to stay connected through art and have some really great creative time!

  • DVOA Starts Wednesday, October 14th

Posted by Camille Obert-Goralski on 10/14/2020

We have so much to look foward to this quarter.  I will be teaching a portion of the 5th graders and all of the 6th graders for this quarter.  The zoom schedule is being worked out. To start out, Ms. G will be zooming on our first day (Oct 14th) with 5th grade at 1:00 - 1:45 and 6th grade at 1:45 - 2:30.  The zoom calls will probably not run the entire time and the agenda is to get logged into zoom, understand our expecations for art class and get to know each other!

For the assignments, here's a list of what the 5th grade and 6th grade will be covering this quarter.  There will be one assignment due per week.

2nd Quarter Art Lessons for 5th Grade:

    • Overlapping Pumpkins
    • Medievel Castle
    • Contour Line Shoe Drawing
    • Line Creates Movement

2nd Quarter Art Lessons for 6th Grade

    • Desert Landscapes
    • Fun Fall Pumpkins
    • Op Art Still Life
    • Moonlight Shadows

Each module should be rolled out giving about 2 weeks worth of content so work at your own pace and enjoy yourself.  if you need Ms. G, please connect through the canvas app with any questions or comments. :)

I cannot wait to get started! :)

  • Getting Ready for a new year

Posted by Camille Obert-Goralski on 7/30/2020

I am anxiously awaiting the start of a new school year.  As with many of you, I am sure there are a lot of questions and insecurities about how this is going to go.  I want to let you know that I have a strong intention for this school year and it has everything to do with using art to heal.

I will be focusing a lot of "art therapy" type exercises intertwined with our content standards.  Please feel free to connect with me if you ever have anything you'd like me to focus on in art class.

I will use this blog to share my latest creative musings - they may not directly connect to our lessons, but they are places for inspiration and for me to share some of my latest passion projects.

As an introduction, my latest passion project has been my garden and my birds.  Looks like nature is front and center for my inspirations.

    Here's my latest little watercolor:
