Welcome to Gavilan Peak PTO Geocaching! What is Geocaching? Geocaching is an outdoor recreational activity, in which participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or mobile device and other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers called geocaches or caches, at specific locations marked by coordinates all over the world (or in this case, Anthem). Basically, it's a treasure hunt where you can take and leave treasures.

First, start by collecting some small trinkets or toys from around your house (you can buy these items if you'd like, but we'd imagine you'd have something lying around you're willing to part with). Next, download the FREE Geaching App on your phone or on your parent's phone. After you have downloaded the app you can follow the coordinates and clues to find whichever Geochache you want to find. We actually have a Geocache profile and active geocache treasures to find! Once you've found a geocache complete the visitors log with your name and date, then replace the prizes found in the geocache with new prizes for other adventureres to find. Make sure you put the geocahce back exactly where it was found.

    Have fun!
