WE ARE WILD ABOUT BOOKS!
During School Year 2022-2023, Stetson Hills' Stallions first through fourth grade will listen to and vote on ten favorite picture books from the list of the 2022 Grand Canyon Reader Award Nominees. Votes will be tallied and sent to the Grand Canyon Reader Award committee for consideration in choosing the winning picture book for 2023.
2023 Picture Book Nominees:
- The Chicken Who Couldn't by Jan Thomas (2020)
- Cow Boy is not a Cowboy by Gregory Barrington, (2020)
- Eat Pete! by Michael Rex, (2018)
- Eyes That Kiss in the Corners by Joanna Ho, (2021)
- Looking for Smile by Ellen Tarlow, (2020)
- Magnificent Homespun Brown: a Celebration by Samra Cole Doyon, (2020)
- Mell Fell by Corey R. Tabor, (2021)
- Sugar in Milk by Thrity N. Umrigar, (2020)
- This is a Taco! by Andrew Cangelose, (2018)
- We Disagree by Bethanie Deeney Murguia, (2020)
Books read to each class will be tracked on a matrix chart by placing a dinosaur in the corresponding square. Stetson Hills' theme for School Year 2022-2023 is "WE ARE WILD ABOUT BOOKS!" We're expecting "unherd" of responses as our Stallions "run away" with these amazing books!
