Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Robert Tarlton
I go by Rob and I’m a recent graduate of ASU. Proud Arizona native who graduated from Cortez High School back in 2005. After high school I joined the military where I spent 9 years on active duty followed by 5 plus years with the National Guard. When it was time for me to move on from active duty I wanted a job where I could help mentor the youth, be around sports and most importantly wear basketball shorts to work every day. PE teacher checked all the blocks so I enrolled in school and was on my way.
My hobbies include going to the gym, watching and playing sports. Unfortunately I’m a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan, but the Cardinals are a close second. Huge Diamondbacks fan as well! It's not uncommon to see me wearing a black D-Backs hat everywhere I go. Sports have always had a big impact on my life from an early age and I want to share that enthusiasm with the students.
My philosophy on teaching is super simple. I want to expose the students to as many physical activities as possible and hope they find one they like. Finding an enjoyable physical activity can be the key to long term health as they get older. PE should help promote physical fitness, develop leadership abilities, social interaction, work ethic and teach students to think strategically.
