2021 Gifted Supplemental ELA Adoption

What We Are Looking For

  • We are looking for curriculum materials that supplement our general education district adopted materials in the following gifted programs:

     

    SAGE/SPARK Programs

    • Grades K-5
    • English Language Arts focus
    • SAGE is content Replacement/Pull-out and SPARK is enrichment during RTI/MTSS Periods

     

    Renaissance Highly Gifted Academies & Bright Child Kindergarten

    • English Language Arts
    • Science
    • Social Studies

     

    Qualities we are looking for are (these are in our survey that you can take):

     

    SAGE/SPARK Questions

    How well do the materials supplement & enhance our district's adopted general education curriculum and grade level standards? 

    How well do the materials engage gifted learners? 

    (higher level, critical thinking, choice, evaluation, leveled activities, multiple project options, etc.) 

    How well do the materials adapt to online/virtual learning?

The Process

  • January 14 - Development of Scoring Rubric via ZOOM 
    January 28 - Review of Materials & guidelines for adoption (BGHS Cafeteria)
    February 11 - Vendor Presentations (BGHS Cafeteria)

    April 29 - Final Decision for Recommendations to the Governing Board (BGHS Cafeteria)
     
     

Public Review

  • From February 16th - April 22nd, all of the materials we are considering are available for the public to view at Barry Goldwater High School. They are in the school front office and can be reviewed during their regular office hours.
