Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Montgomery

Hi Coyotes! My name is Allison Montgomery and I am the 7th grade ELA teacher at Diamond Canyon. The last 3 years I have co-taught in ELA as the 6th-8th grade ELA special education teacher, and this year am excited to narrow in my focus as the 7th grade ELA teacher.  I am also a full time single mom of two Coyote students at Diamond Canyon, including a 7th grader and 4th grader! We moved to Anthem in January 2021 and are so grateful to be a part of such a warm and connected community! This will be my 14th year in education. I have my Bachelors in Human Development and Family Studies, my Masters in Special Education K-12, Masters in Elementary Education K-8, as well as my Masters in Early Childhood Special Education. I am endorsed in ELL and ELA K-8 and love to read and write myself. I am a published Christian writer, and also write on a blog. So teaching ELA is truly a passion of mine! I believe in the power of words in us, in the novels and stories we read, and how we share our words!

I have worked as a foster care advocate, social worker, early childhood special education teacher, Child Find evaluator and developmental specialist, K-5 Elementary teacher, and K-5 special education teacher. I have also taught high school dance, coached High School dance team, Varsity Poms, and choreographed at the collegiate dance level. I danced for the NBA , AFL and collegiate level at Colorado State University, and have loved teaching dance along the way as well. When not teaching, you will find me spending time with family and friends, going to my kids sports and doing mom life, doing my peloton, lgoing on a walk/hike/run, listening to country music, cheering on the Minnesota Vikings, and hopefully spending time on the water because I am from MN and love the lake!  Some of my favorite authors include Lysa TerKeurst, Brene Brown and Beth Moore! I am looking forward to connecting with you, my students, and partnering this year to build relationship and growth! Middle school is truly a unique chapter of life and I am honored to be a part of each and every one of my student's journeys this year!

The best way to get a hold of me is through email and I commit to getting back to you within at least 24 hours.
