COVID Impact Statement
Our child care staff have been pioneers in providing a safe and healthy environment for our students, beginning in June 2020 with summer camp. They have worked tirelessly in a continually evolving and changing environment to exceed all health and safety guidelines.
The coronavirus pandemic has greatly impacted all of us. Many students remain in virtual classrooms, and many employers/employees continue to telecommute long-term or indefinitely. As a result, we had to reduce our staffing to remain viable. We will add staff when our programs begin to see increased enrollment. In the meantime, Community Education is a self-funded department that, by law, cannot have a negative financial impact on DVUSD.
To keep our rates affordable, we are providing an option this year. Normally, we do not provide a credit for absences on days that are reserved but not used. In 2021-2022, you may choose an option to:
- Pay a lower rate with a Consistent Plan (see Rates & Plans) with NO credits for days missed. A Consistent Plan means you reserve the same 3-5 days every week of the school year. This provides peace of mind that you have school day child care available, and offers our lowest daily rates.
- Choose a Pick-Your-Weeks* Plan at a higher daily rate. This plan provides greater flexibility of which weeks you can choose. It will also provide a partial (50%) credit toward future dates when your child is quarantined or self-isolated by DVUSD in accordance with the Maricopa County Department of Health Services (DHS) guidelines in force at the time, due to a positive test of an immediate family member in your household, and when proper protocol is followed and required documentation is received by DVUSD.
In the event a site or a cohort is closed by DVUSD, (in accordance with DHS), full credit will be applied to future use for the days the program is closed.
Refunds will not be issued.
*The Pick Your Weeks (PYW) plan replaces the previous Pick Your Days (PYD) plan. This plan allows for AM & PM care, AM only, or PM only, at 5 days per week, but only for those weeks that you choose. More information available in the Rates & Plans section.

Rates & Plan Options 2021-22

We offer three types of registration plans to provide a variety of choices to meet the needs of most families. Our knowledgeable account representatives can provide additional information on any of these plans if you are not sure what might work best for you.
Consistent Plan
- This plan offers the stability and assurance of knowing your child has child care for the same 3 to 5 days every week of the school year. Choose:
- Mornings only
- Afternoons only
- Morning and Afternoons
- Your commitment to a consistent schedule allows us to offer this at our lowest daily rate
Pick Your Weeks
- PYW offers the opportunity to choose only those weeks that you want or need. While it does require 5 days a week, you can still choose:
- Mornings only
- Afternoons only
- Morning and Afternoons
- This mid-range priced plan offers the flexibility of varied weeks
Drop-In
- A Drop In contract allows you to select only those days you choose, with no commitment for a minimum number of days

Registration 2021-22
Due to the high volume of registrations we normally receive, coupled with the uncertainty of what to expect for the new year as a result of the pandemic (see COVID Statement tab), we strongly encourage early registration.- Registrations received July 15th or later may be subject to a delayed start.
- Some sites may reach capacity and new registrants will be placed on a waiting list.
Registration for 2021-2022 opens on 4/15/21 and will remains open throughout the school year.- Create or update your Family Profile ELEYO
- The profile is NOT the registration
- A new registration contract is required each school year; returning families will use the same family profile
- Continue to "ENROLL IN" and choose the Before & After School Care option and "NEW CONTRACT" following the online prompts/instructions.
- Be sure to read all the agreements
There is an annual per family registration fee that is collected at the time of contract approval. We encourage early registration to avoid delays in processing your approval and/or being put on a waiting list. Early registration helps us to plan more efficiently. Early registrants must provide ALL required documentation and information prior to 7/31/21 or the lower fee will be forfeited.Per family registration fee
- $40 per family through 5/31/2021
- $60 per family beginning 6/1/2021
This per-year fee includes families in the same household with shared guardianship.
IMPORTANT changes have been made to our plan options and rates this year. Please review this information (Rates & Plan Options tab) and carefully consider your choice of plans. While you don't want to reserve days you don't need, you also want to be sure that the days you do need are reserved in advance.
- Unscheduled additional and/or drop-ins may not be permitted, especially on early release PLC Fridays, due to capacity and ratios
- All additional and/or drop-in days must be submitted and approved by Wednesday to attend Friday
- Requests may be denied if a site does not have sufficient staffing to meet licensing requirements
- Dropping in unscheduled on this day will result in your child being sent to the office for your pick up if space is not available, or
- You may be subject to the $40 per day drop in rate
- If you know you will need care on the weekly PLC 90-minute early release days, we recommend you reserve these days in advance; at the same time, we ask that you not reserve this day if you know you will not need it
A new and separate registration is required for each school year.
Our programs provide a safe, on-site, enriching environment for students before and after their regularly scheduled school day by incorporating activities indoors and out, as well as homework assistance, tutoring, and organized play. Before & After Care is available to students age 5-14 in grades K-8; students must attend school at the site where the program is offered. Early entry kindergarten students are eligible to attend this program once they have reached their 5th birthday.
