Hello!  I am excited to be working with the gifted population at Sonoran Foothills!  I will be starting my 17th year of teaching in 2022.  Over the course of those 17 years, I mainly taught Sixth grade ELA, both to regular education students and gifted students.  I also worked as a Reading Specialist in a middle school setting.  I have a degree in Elementary Education from King's College in Wilkes-Barre, PA and earned my Master's Degree in Reading from St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, PA.  I have my Gifted Endorsement and Middle Grade ELA Endorsement as well.  All of these certifications are great, but I truly feel that my 17 years of teaching has been my best learning experience.  I want to be an advocate for gifted learners.  These students have so much to offer with their critical thinking skills, logic, and "outside the box" thinking.  I hope to spark creativity while also developing executive functioning skills and a growth mindset that are essential to success.  I'm looking forward to this adventure!
