In order to be successful, Aspire middle school students need to:

    • Create a work space that is quiet and free from distractions

    • Follow a set schedule and plan ahead allowing for effective time management

    • Log in and access courses on Canvas every school day

    • Routinely check announcements, messages, due dates, grades, and feedback on Canvas

    • Attend live instruction classes on Zoom (link provided within Canvas course)

    • Complete weekly MyHours attendance log (requirements, instructions, and video tutorial)

    • Reach out to your teacher with any questions or concerns (Once the course begins, all communication between students and teachers should be sent through Canvas messages.)

    Additional Information:

    • Weekly modules will be posted and available to students each Monday morning by 8:30 am

    • Feedback to students will be given in a timely manner, typically within 1-5 school days after submission, depending on the assignment

    • Resubmissions of assignments and assessments for grade improvement are accepted and students should communicate with the teacher so time for additional support can be scheduled

    • Per DVUSD policy, missing assignments are reflected with a score of 49%, this grade will change, once the work is submitted

    • Late work is accepted for full credit, but assignments and assessments will only be available for two weeks after initially posted

    • Students will receive a zero for plagiarized work and will not be able to resubmit the assignment for grade improvement
