    Introduction to Accounting Course Description

    This course is designed to help students understand basic accounting principles and procedures.  Students will learn and apply the accounting concepts necessary for financial record keeping and decision making in a small business using hands-on activities.

    Advanced Accounting Course Description

    Students will expand upon advanced accounting principles and procedures through business simulations covering accounting tasks and financial analysis.

    Accounting – VITA Certification Course Description

    In this course, students will expand upon advanced payroll and tax accounting principles and procedures through simulations and case studies. Students will engage in the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program and will pursue basic and advanced IRS VITA tax preparation certification. Student Organization: FBLA.

    Advanced Marketing Course Description

    In this course, students are guided through the preparation of a business proposal. This process begins with an analysis of personal traits, followed by planning the business, management, marketing and financials. The concepts and principles learned, will be combined to develop a business plan. Students will analyze economic principles fundamental to business success and to prepare for future careers. Passing this course meets the free enterprise/economics graduation requirement.
