Hello,

My name is Becky Wanca.

I was born and raised in Glendale, Arizona. I am a graduate of Mountain Ridge High School, class of 2017. After graduating high school, I attended the University of Oregon where I was a student athlete on their acrobatics and tumbling team. Following my freshman year of college, I transferred to Northern Arizona University where I majored in Secondary Education-History/ Social Studies and minored in Political Science. I was on the cheerleading team all three years I attended NAU and was voted President of the team my senior year. I am a very big advocate for getting involved in your school one way or another.

During my last semester at NAU, I student taught at Boulder Creek High School in a World History classroom. After graduating, I jumped right into teaching, where I accepted my first teaching position at Terramar Elementary. I taught 6th grade social studies and I am now making the transition to high school. I am so excited to be joining the social studies team here at Deer Valley where I will be teaching World History and American History! 

 When I'm not in the classroom, you can find me at a plant nursery, farmer's market, brunch, or spending time with my friends and family!
