• If your child tests positive for COVID-19:

    • Keep your child and all siblings at home and do not report to school. Student and parents should follow DVUSD COVID-19 reporting procedures.
    • Your child may return to school after s/he meets the requirements set forth by Maricopa County Department of Public Health
      • If a student is eligible to return on day 6, the student must wear a face mask through day 10. If student is unable to wear a mask, then s/he must continue to isolate at home for the full 10 days. This timeframe and mask requirement applies to siblings as well.
    • Home test kit results are accepted. Home tests should have the student's name and date of when the test was administered written on the test kit, and results submitted to the school.

If your child is a close contact of someone who has tested positive for COVID-19:

      • If a student is in close contact with a positive case of COVID-19 at home, DVUSD asks that the parent communicate this exposure via the DVUSD COVID-19 reporting tool and/or by communicating directly with the school nurse.
      • Students must quarantine at home if they are exposed to a member of his/her household who is COVID-19 positive.
      • If a student is required to quarantine, s/he must follow public health quarantine guidelines. Currently, the student must quarantine at home for 5 days and is eligible to return on day 6 if no symptoms are present. Public health recommends that students be tested on or after day 5.
      • The exceptions to quarantine for being a close contact are the following:
        • The student's COVID-19 vaccine is up to date (14 days past the final dose, including boosters, if eligible) and are symptom free.
        • Student has been COVID-19 positive in the last 90 days and proof can be shown. (The student must be symptom free as well.)
      • Per the CDC and MCDPH, antibody tests are not accepted as a means to be excluded from quarantine.
