My name is Mrs. Jennifer Okenwa (pronounced Oh-Ken-Wuh). I don't mind going by Ms. O if that's easier though. I have been teaching for 10 years now and this will be my 11th. I have spent the majority of my career educating 2nd graders, with a few years in 3rd grade. I loved that experience because it allowed me to see where my 2nd graders need to be in order to be fully prepared for the next grade level.

I was raised in New Mexico but moved to Arizona with my wonderful husband and three kids about 4 years ago. As much as I love the city I come from, I love the amount of fun activities to do with my kids here as well as the great food we find when we visit new food spots. I enjoy spending time with my family and our favorite activity is our family tradition movie nights on Friday evenings. 

I'm very much a homebody and when I'm not running my kids around to different sports or helping them with homework, I love spending my downtime watching documentaries, scrapbooking, and occasionally shopping. 

 I enjoy fostering a passion for learning so students can realize how amazing they are and encourage one another to be their best selves.  I look forward to working with you this year to help your child grow both academically and emotionally.
