I am so excited to be joining the Inspiration Mountain staff and building our new school community.   I really feel privileged to be a part of a fabulous staff at such an amazing school. I graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Education after majoring in biology and the University of Oregon. This will be my 4th year teaching 5th grade science and my 2nd year teaching 5th grade social studies. Prior to teaching 5th grade, I spent 14 years teaching 2nd grade. The past 15 years I have taught at Las Brisas Elementary. I will be celebrating my 30th wedding anniversary this fall with my husband, Robert. We have two boys, Colby age 25 and Chase age 20. They both graduated from Sandra Day O'Connor High School.  Colby graduated from Cornell University in 2020 and got his masters at University of Richmond in 2021.  He played baseball at both colleges.  Colby now plays professional baseball for the Sioux Falls Canaries, which is part of the American Association for Independent Baseball.  My son Chase is attending Glendale Community College, where he is majoring in environmental studies.  He currently works at Petsmart and adopted his own puppy this summer. In our spare time we love to watch sporting events and movies. I enjoy hiking, kayaking, photography and I have a succulent obsession. I am a huge Denver Broncos fan and Oregon Duck fan as your children will discover this fall during football season! 

As your child's science and social studies teacher, I'm looking forward to working with you and your child toward making this year fun, productive, and a happy one for all of us. Students will be encouraged to try lots of new things with a positive attitude and I am expecting many great things from them. Working together we can accomplish this. I'm excited to share my passion for learning with your child. It's going to be an exciting year.
