Mrs. Monica Davis

Hello first grade families!  I am so excited to be a part of Las Brisas this year!

I earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Arizona State University in 2001, and I taught first grade for four years in the Madison District.  I went on to teach one year of second grade and five years of first grade at Anthem School in DVUSD.  During that time I earned a master's degree in Early Childhood Education with a Reading Endorsement from Northern Arizona University.  I took an unexpected ten year break from teaching to tend to the needs of my family, and during that time, I joined the Family Advisory Council for Feeding Matters, a non-profit organization that supports children with pediatric feeding disorders.  I was honored to be a presenter at the 2022 virtual Pediatric Feeding Disorder conference, and I currently volunteer as a family coach for their Power of Two program.

My husband Jeremy and I have been married for 24 years and have two amazing daughters.  Genevieve is 10 and entering 5th grade, and Cecilia is almost 8 and entering 2nd grade.  In January, we adopted two orange brother cats named Samson and Oliver.  Your kids will be hearing lots of stories about my furry and non-furry children!
