I am from Los Angeles, California.  

I graduated from Humboldt State University in 1994.  At HSU I majored in Social Science, was a jumper on the track team, played rugby, and was heavily involved in the local music scene.  After graduation, I served two years in the U.S. Peace Corps in the country of Belize, where I created a P.E. curriculum for k-8 grades, worked as a teacher trainer, and organized interscholastic, and community, sports events.

Upon returning to the U.S., I taught fourth and fifth grades inSouth Los Angeles, in the  Los Angeles Unified School District for eight years.  I then spent two years teaching high school English in South Korea, and one year teaching middle and high school English in Dubai.

My family and I moved to Arizona in 2014. Since then, I have taught fifth through eighth grades in two districts, and at charter schools.  This is my first year in the Deer Valley district.
