My name is Carolyn Moody and I am pleased to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you as your student’s permanent, 7^th grade, English Language Arts, teacher. This will be my 8th year teaching, I previously taught at Desert Sky, but took about 9 years off to take care of family obligations. Not only am I a former Desert Sky Teacher, I also am a former Thunderbolt student. I graduated from Deer Valley High School and then attended Arizona State University. I currently hold a Bachelors degree in elementary education, with a concentration in Fine Arts and Language Arts.

ELA is a subject area that incorporates lesson plans in reading, writing, listening, speaking, and viewing.  I am really looking forward to the rest of the school year, building upon the skills students mastered first quarter and last year, and helping students accomplish new challenges in the language arts subject area.  I feel that a positive learning experience is built on a collaborative effort among parents, students, and teacher, and I welcome your questions and concerns as the year progresses.  

I love getting to know my students and their families. Please, never hesitate to reach out to me. I check my e-mail a couple times throughout the day and my voicemail at the beginning and end of the day.  I will always do my best to get back to you in a timely manner.
