I am very happy to be appointed the Dean of Students at Village Meadows Elementary School. I have been a member of DVUSD for over 10 years, serving as P.E.instructor, athletic director and coach for Norterra Canyon School and Principal at Sonoran Foothills Schools.
I have numerous years of educational experience. I grew up in a small community in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Northern Michigan University in Physical Education and Health Education. I taught Physical Education, coached multiple sports and served as athletic director in Wisconsin for eight years. I earned my Masters Degree from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. I went into administration for the Iron Mountain Public School District in Michigan, serving as an assistant principal/athletic director for six years, principal for one year, and was then named superintendent of schools for fourteen years.
My wife and I relocated to Arizona in 2010, and I returned to my teaching career instructing Physical Education and Driver Education for seven and a half years at Norterra Canyon School. I was hired as the new principal at Sonoran Foothills in 2018. This will be my second year at Village Meadows Elementary School.
I believe it is my responsibility to continue to build upon the supportive and collaborative spirit that has been established here at Village Meadows Elementary School. I am a highly-motivated, hands-on administrator who believes in leading by example. Students meet high academic expectations when they are in a caring environment and I will do my best to see that we provide that for each student and help them achieve their goals at Village Meadows!
