Deer Valley Unified School District routinely reviews curriculum and resources for upcoming school years. This process is open to the public through committee recruitment, and public review of committee recommendations and selection of materials. 5th Grade Social Studies Curriculum Update

The Deer Valley Unified School District is seeking to update its current 5th-grade adopted curricular resources to a newer version from the same publisher in order to better support the rigor, content expectations, and instructional strategies needed to meet the outcomes of the Arizona History and Social Sciences standards.

Starting March 14, 2025, you will have the chance to review the reorganized and updated textbook for 5th grade online and provide feedback. In alignment with Arizona Statute 15-721 & Arizona Statute 15-722, along with DVUSD Board Policy IJJ,  the materials will be on display for 60 days, until May 12, 2025.
