Ms. Heath

Welcome to Ms. Heath's Bio.

I have been teaching special needs students for 23 years now.  I started at the Junior High level for 7 years and now I am at the elementary level for the past 16 years at Copper Creek Elementary.

I graduated from ASU West 23 years ago.

My certificates that I hold are in the Areas of : K-12 Special education, K-8 General Education.  I also hold the individual certificates in SLD, ED, ID (all areas) and a minor in Social Studies. My other certificates are in the area of early childhood birth-age 8, ELA and Math for middle school and also my SEI endorsement.

My classroom philosophy is to work towards each childs goals, to support each child and move them towards being more successful, to show each child that they can be  proud of themselves and to be flexible in the learning process and to know that each day is a New Adventure.  I believe that children no matter their cognitive ability- is able to LEARN.  It is my job to help them get there and build off of that.

My classroom environment is working with students at grade levels K-6.  We work on all areas of academic curriculum, behaviors, daily living skills and IEP goals.

Honors I have received multiple DV Stars (nominations from my colleagues)

I was also a recipient of the Fiesta Bowl Wishes for Teachers 2019-2020 school year.
