GIFTED PRE-K ACADEMY
Deer Valley's Gifted Pre-K Academy at Las Brisas provides an enriched academic foundation for gifted and talented learners. Gifted Pre-K Academy serves as a foundation for nurturing the development of our youngest scholars who require advanced learning opportunities. Students work at an accelerated pace commensurate with their individual learner needs. In doing so, the Gifted Pre-K Academy environment prioritizes student play and developmentally appropriate learner structures. Students enjoy thematic instruction that emphasizes Depth and Complexity, Habits of Mind, inquiry-based learning, discovery, and FUN!

Qualifying Information
Age Level Requirements:
Children must be potty-trained and age 4 to enroll in the Gifted Pre-K Academy.
Qualifications:
Gifted testing on a state-approved assessment (ARS 15-779) is required for placement into the Gifted Pre-K Academy. Students who score at or above the 88th percentile in one of the three state-approved areas (Verbal, Quantitative, or Nonverbal) are eligible to apply. Students who successfully complete Gifted Pre-K Academy are eligible for placement in one of Bright Beginnings Kindergarten Programs at Canyon Springs, Highland Lakes, and Las Brisas.
Placement/ Registration:
The Gifted Pre-K Academy at Las Brisas is a signature gifted and talented program. Registration for the 2025-26 school year is currently in progress. Qualifying scores on a state-approved gifted assessment are required for placement. Placement occurs on a first-come-first-served basis. ALL gifted testing must be submitted to DVUSD Gifted Services prior to registration. Call 623-445-5588 for more information.
Register for Gifted Testing:
DVUSD Gifted Services offers gifted testing with our district-certified psychologists. Testing may be scheduled by completing the registration form below.
