Digital Accessibility

Our Commitment to Accessibility

Deer Valley Unified School District is committed to providing students, families, employees, and community members with equitable access to information, programs, services, and digital resources.

As more learning, communication, and District services are delivered digitally, accessibility is an important part of how DVUSD serves our community. We are working to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access and use District digital content and services as independently and effectively as possible.

DVUSD is aligning its digital accessibility practices with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the technical accessibility standard identified under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act for state and local government web content and mobile applications. We are working to ensure that covered digital content and services conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA and are implementing a districtwide accessibility plan to identify, remediate, and prevent accessibility barriers.

To support accessibility, DVUSD uses AudioEye to review website content and ensure it complies with accessibility guidelines. This tool also allows website users to download documents in various alternative formats.

Our goal is to create digital experiences that allow all members of the Deer Valley community to connect with our schools, access important information, participate in District programs, and engage in learning.

Accessibility Is an Ongoing Process

DVUSD recognizes that digital accessibility requires continuous attention as websites, documents, courses, applications, and technology change.

The District is developing processes for ongoing:

  • accessibility monitoring;
  • employee training;
  • content review;
  • remediation;
  • vendor evaluation; and
  • continuous improvement.

Need Help Accessing Information?

We want to know when someone encounters a barrier.

When reporting an accessibility concern, please include, when possible:

  • the webpage, document, application, or digital resource involved;
