Become a Substitute Teacher

We value Deer Valley’s substitute teachers who play a vital role in our students’ academic success and achievement. We utilize a significant amount of substitutes each year and expect adherence to the same high standards and expectations as our regular classroom teachers. Substitute teachers contribute a great deal to the children of our community.

There is a daily need for high quality substitute teachers in Deer Valley. An Automated Substitute Calling System and website are used to request substitutes and make the assignments. Substitutes are trained on the automated system prior to accepting their first job. Substitutes are paid $130.00 per day, and $65.00 for half day. Long term positions are paid $130.00 per day for the first 20 days, and then increased to the daily rate of $175.00 on the 21st consecutive day.
