Welcome!

My name is Erin Simmons, and I've been with DVUSD since 2019. Currently, I oversee reading interventions and teach various levels of Literacy Connections using the Elevate program from Reading Horizons.

I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Westmont College in December of 2013. I continued my education at Westmont and completed their California Teaching Credential Program in the spring of 2014.

My teaching career began with an opportunity to teach internationally. I taught grades three and four at a private international institution in Costa Rica from 2014 to 2018. In July of 2018, I moved to Arizona where I taught single subject elementary as the English Subject Expert Teacher for fourth grade. In the summer of 2019, I made the jump to middle school and began teaching 7th grade English Language Arts at Deer Valley Middle School where I stayed for several years before joining the team at BGHS in 2023.
