Mrs. Shari LaBuwi

Greeting Parents and Families of Village Meadows Vikings,

My name is Shari LaBuwi and I am extremely excited to begin my second year here at Village Meadows as your Dean of Students. I have been in education since 1994, teaching a variety of grades kindergarten through sixth. Prior to joining the Village Meadows staff, I was a classroom teacher for 25 years. I served in a variety of teaching and educational leadership roles over those years, including mentor teacher, Leadership Team member, Student Council advisor and active PTO member. I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and made the move to Arizona 10 years ago.

As the parent of two girls, aged 10 and 14, I know the importance of a strong home-school connection. Parents are every child’s first teacher and I firmly believe that by working together, we can assure that your child’s social, emotional and academic needs are met here at Village Meadows.

I believe that great schools are the results of great teachers, so one of my primary objectives is to ensure that every student is receiving the best possible instruction from our dedicated staff. In order to do this, I am frequently visiting classrooms, walking campus, chatting with staff and students, and providing teachers with feedback on their instruction and classroom environments. It is also my privilege to reach out to families to offer support with academic and behavioral concerns to ensure that our students are prepared for school and developing their skills for a successful future.

I work closely with Mrs. Weinman each day, and look forward to helping our Village Meadows Vikings

SAIL to success! We look forward to seeing you on campus this year as we celebrate 60 years of education!

Thank you for the opportunity to serve your families in this role. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions, concerns, ideas or input you would like to share.

Sincerely,

Shari LaBuwi

Dean of Students
