Letter from Mrs. Wieser
Dear Titan Community,
We hope everyone is staying healthy during this challenging time. Fasten your seat belt because you are about to embark on the Terramar Titan Learning Adventure Ride. As with all rides, I thought I would start with some safety features that we have created.
Visit the Terramar PTSA facebook page for LIVE announcements, the Pledge of Allegiance and more at 8:15am daily.
Zoom will be the platform that we are using to connect virtually to our students.
For Kinder-2nd grade: Your child’s teacher will email you the link to join them in a virtual meeting. Please keep this email safe and secure.
For 3rd-8th grade:The links to all teacher Zoom meetings are located in their Canvas pages.
Students must log into the teacher Canvas page to see the link. Once in Canvas you will find a link to view the Terramar Zoom Links Page. This document will house all teacher Zoom links. Students need to click the Zoom link next to their teacher’s name and they will be sent to a waiting room for teacher permission to enter the virtual meeting. Please make sure that they type their name before entering. Names that teachers don’t recognize will not be let in (ex: ipad, galaxy, iphone, etc). Once in the virtual meeting, the teacher is the only host. At any time the teacher can mute all students and at any time they can remove any student. Rest assured that they will use this feature, so help us help your child, in reminding them to make good choices. At all times we recommend that parents/guardians supervise children while on Zoom and other websites.
The first stop on your journey should be our school website, find the Terramar Home Learning Hub on the left on your screen. You will find our Weekly Home Learning Schedules (with links for learning activities which will go live Sunday at 10PM), Our Virtual Teaching Hours, Video Tutorials and a link to Canvas which you will need your child’s help for log in. All our teacher websites can be accessed by clicking here.
Your second stop in our website should be to click open the DVUSD Home Learning Resources. Here you find every letter sent to the community regarding food distribution, technology, social emotional supports, and updates provided by the district.

For families struggling with WiFi access, these options may help:
For families needing support with obtaining Wi-Fi access, several local providers have programs to support this need.
- Cox Hotspot Network is open to the public. Here is a map of Hotspots https://www.cox.com/residential/internet/learn/cox-hotspots.html in your area. Cox is offering two free months to Connect2Compete (C2C) eligible students. C2C does not have a contract nor installation charge.
CenturyLink - Will waive late fees and will not terminate a residential or small business customer’s service for the next 60 days due to financial circumstances associated with COVID-19. See CenturyLink Pledge (https://news.centurylink.com/fccpledge).
Throughout this learning adventure ride your child will have the opportunity to meet virtually with their teachers for 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the afternoon Monday thru Thursday. On Fridays our teachers will be in virtual Professional Learning Communities. As a parent/guardian if you have individual questions that you need answered, you may email the teacher for a scheduled time to meet virtually or by phone.
The first two rides (weeks) on our learning adventure will be to review past content that was taught. Our teachers have created learning activities to do just that, and will be hoping that all students take advantage of these learning opportunities.
As a parent we understand that the view might look new and different for you than it does for your child. They have navigated some of these platforms and programs while in the Terramar building and you haven’t YET. :)
So, welcome aboard everyone. At any time if you or your child feels overwhelmed and just needs to take a deep breath, we strongly encourage you to do so. Our teachers stand ready and able to lead this learning adventure. Get ready, and make sure your seat belts are fastened because the adventure for everyone is about to begin.
The office staff will be checking voicemails daily. If you have not received a response by email from the teacher, admin, or counselor, please don’t hesitate to call the office at 623-445-7600.
Stay healthy, stay connected, and continue to be flexible, patient and smile, we hope you enjoy our smooth ride to finish the Terramar Titan 2019-2020 academic school year.
In service to our community,
