Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Aaron Arnold
Hello Deer Valley Online Students and Families,
My name is Aaron Arnold, and I am excited to be spending this year teaching online at the Deer Valley Online Learning Program! I graduated from Arizona State University with my Bachelors in English and Education. Currently, I am looking at obtaining my Masters in Education Leadership. I am pumped to be teaching English 3, 4, and Creative Writing this year, and I hope to shed my love of learning and discovering onto each and every one of my students.
Here at the DVOLP, we have high expectations for student learning, and with those high expectations must come a readiness to learn, grow, and learn from mistakes. In my virtual classroom, students will be required to persevere, make connections, work collaboratively in discussions, think critically when solving problems, and learn time management skills. I aim to be a facilitator for learning that allows students to find their own solutions and make their own meaning with support and guidance along the way. With this approach of asynchronous centering learning around the students, they will be able to extend their learning and explore depths with each new idea or topic.
One of my greatest passions lies in creating student mindfulness and teaching self-awareness. While learning new things in new ways can be challenging, I intend to teach students a variety of strategies to work through their own struggles and empower themselves to learn and grow. In this environment, students are able to work to their highest potential, give their best, and in turn, produce their best work.
Lastly, I believe that communication is the key to a successful school year. I will communicate with families through e-mail as well as Canvas and my district website. Please feel free to reach out to me with questions or concerns regarding social, emotional, or academic growth. Together, we will make this school year successful and one to remember. I am truly looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you and learning beside you this year.
