Hello Sunrise Community!
I am so honored and excited to work with the staff and students as an instructional coach for 3rd-6th grade at Sunrise Elementary School. As an instructional coach, I work side-by-side with teachers to provide the best educational experience for Sunrise students.
I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than 11 years. I attended Northern Arizona University where I earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master's degree in educational leadership- Go Lumberjacks! My career in education began in Mesa Public Schools where I served as a paraprofessional working with students in special education. After earning my degree, I served as a teacher in the Mesa Public Schools District where I taught 1st, 3rd and 6th grade. In 2015, I left Arizona to serve in the United States Peace Corps. Living in the Kingdom of Tonga, I worked closely with the Ministry of Education and a local public school to create student centered policies and materials. I ate loads of coconut and raw fish, soaked up the sunshine and even learned their native dance. Check out my photo! I am thrilled to continue to bring my skills as an instructional coach to Sunrise and to work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child's success.
Along with teachers and staff, I will work to provide Sunrise students an amazing education. To our students, I cannot wait to meet you all! I know things are different this year and connecting may be more challenging but I encourage families to reach out if they need anything or just to chat! It is important to me that everyone at Sunrise feel welcome here. I look forward to working with you all.
