DVUSD High School Registration Process
Dear Parents and Students,
Registering for high school is easy and we have done our best to provide you with everything that you need to complete the process. Please watch the step by step video that is linked on the right side of this page. If you need any additional assistance, please reach out to your home campus counselor. We want to make sure that you are supported during this process and we are happy to assist you in any way necessary!
We are starting the high school registration process with your 8th grade child and want to keep you informed on the activities associated with this process. We value your input and support as we help prepare your child for their next four years. Please keep these dates and activities in mind:
A few weeks ago, we conducted a lesson in your child’s social studies class introducing them to Career Technical Education classes (CTE) and West-MEC program opportunities. This information exposed students to potential career paths and gave them options for electives when choosing high school courses. Also, in case you missed the Career Expo at the end of October, here is the recording of the zoom presentations.
Students will receive the high school registration video via an announcement in their Canvas ELA class; this video explains the registration process in detail for students and parents. The focus of the presentation centers on the general high school environment as well as the various programs, courses, and curriculum available for next year. Please check out the district Academic Planning Guide for additional information specific to each high school and the wonderful program opportunities that are available.
Students may register for their classes online through Power Schools now. We have a wonderful video to share with you to help navigate the process for our students.
Parents & students will be able to log in to view their schedules and make necessary changes until December 18th.
ATTENTION: If your child is planning on attending a different DVUSD high school than their home school, an Open Enrollment form submitted on-line before December 11th will have priority consideration. You will be notified via e-mail in January if the placement has been approved.
“Future Freshman Night” if you were not able to attend the virtual zoom DVUSD high school Future Freshman Nights during the week of November 16th, you can check out the different presentations for each of our five high schools. We strongly encourage students and parents to view the various virtual presentations.
This is an exciting time for you and your middle school child and we will do our best to help you through this process. To further assist you in this, our district has developed a Future Freshman web site.
If you have any questions please contact your home campus academic counselor or reach out to the staff at Deer Valley Online Learning Program.
